Turning Surplus Into Something Worth Sipping

Breer is a Hong Kong-born beverage brand turning food waste into something worth raising a glass to. Founded by a group of HKUST students, Breer began with a simple idea: surplus bread should not have to end up in landfill. By using it to replace part of the malted barley traditionally used in brewing, the brand creates bold, planet-friendly beverages while reducing the resources and waste associated with production. Today, that philosophy stretches from Breer’s core beers to experimental limited editions and SIP by Breer, its non-alcoholic range. Different drinks, same belief: waste is not waste until you waste it.

Breer

Bold, youthful, experimental, and purpose-driven. Breer takes sustainability out of the corporate world and makes it something you can actually taste. Expect unexpected ingredients, playful experimentation, and drinks with a story behind every sip.

Brewing With Surplus Bread - Breer upcycles surplus bread by using it to replace part of the malted barley in the brewing process, giving food that might otherwise be wasted an entirely new purpose.

Born in Hong Kong - The story began in 2018 when Breer’s co-founders met through an Enactus social innovation competition briefing at HKUST, turning a university connection into a homegrown sustainability brand.

More Than Beer - Alongside its core beers, Breer creates experimental limited-edition brews and SIP by Breer, a non-alcoholic line that brings the same sustainability-first thinking to a wider range of drinks.
