Hong Kong’s milk tea scene is already world-class, from old-school cha chaan teng brews to bubble tea imports with cult followings, there’s no shortage of choices. But there’s a new arrival about to shake things up. SOMA Tea & Mocktail, one of Taiwan’s most celebrated milk tea brands, is officially opening its first permanent Hong Kong store at K11 Musea — and the city’s tea lovers are buzzing with excitement.

Known for elevating everyday milk tea into something closer to an art form, SOMA has earned a loyal following across Taiwan for its meticulous craftsmanship and creative presentation. Each drink is built on the brand’s philosophy of “creating the best possible cup,” blending high-quality tea leaves with precisely balanced ingredients and striking visual detail.

While SOMA first made a brief appearance in Hong Kong last year with a pop-up at The Farmhouse Deli, this new opening marks its official entry into the city. The upcoming K11 Musea flagship will serve the brand’s signature creations, from its richly aromatic milk teas to inventive mocktails that fuse tea culture with modern mixology. Think creamy textures, elegant glassware, and unexpected flavours that turn a takeaway moment into a sensory experience.

The opening date hasn’t been confirmed just yet, but anticipation is already building. Once the doors open, you can expect queues of milk tea enthusiasts eager to see if SOMA’s award-winning craftsmanship lives up to the hype and knowing Hong Kong, it’s bound to become the city’s next go-to spot for refined tea indulgence.
